About Our Internships
Tyndale Internships are designed for college students wanting to explore a career in the Christian Publishing industry. You will get to engage with other interns across various departments, attend training workshops, and participate in group projects designed to build professional skills.
Important Details
- Interviews for this opening will start in November 2026.
- Internships will start in May 2027, and generally through the summer but can have flexible scheduling.
- The expected hourly range for this position is $17.50 per hour.
- The expected schedule is 40 hours per week on-site.
The Tyndale Kids Book Publishing Intern (Acquisitions) will gain valuable experience by assisting the Tyndale Kids Team in conducting market research, evaluating the viability of new projects, and collaborating on publishing pitches. This work is an integral part of the Tyndale Kids Team’s ability to publish quality literature that ministers to the spiritual needs of children and young adults around the world.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research acquisition trends, industry sales numbers, high-profile authors, conferences in our market, and unrealized opportunities in the market; make recommendations based on findings.
- Help evaluate the potential of submitted manuscripts and proposals from agents and authors.
- Assist with reviewing publication committee pitches.
- Propose cross-functional action plans to bring new / emerging ideas to life
- Participate in weekly 1:1 mentoring conversations with supervisor.
- Participate in bi-weekly proposal review meetings.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
- The intern will learn what it takes to make a book.
- The intern will gain research skills and be challenged to think critically about the Christian publishing market.
- The intern will learn the process of acquiring new manuscripts and will be trained to review publishing proposals.
- The intern will grow in their ability to present ideas persuasively.
- The intern will learn how to translate ideas into business-winning solutions
- The intern will collaborate with others in a professional environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High level of initiative and responsibility
- Strong research and critical thinking skills
- Ability to write clearly, persuasively, and concisely
- Interest in children’s and young adult books
- Team player, collaborative style, and strong interpersonal skills
- Creative thinking
- Experience in Microsoft Office software, especially Word and Excel but also PowerPoint, or the desire to learn
- Business background or experience a plus
- Experience with kids is a plus (i.e. kids ministry, coaching, volunteering)
- Personal alignment with and adherence to the Bible as God’s Word, and agreement with our Statement of Faith
