Focus 2
FOCUS 2 guides users through a reliable, intuitive career and education decision-making model to help them choose a college, select a major, explore occupations, make informed career decisions and take action in their career development. The Mercer Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) offers Focus 2, a free career and education planning system for all Mercerians. Focus 2 offers Mercerians a reliable career and education decision-making model to guide decision-making and increase confidence in choosing a major, exploring occupations, and creating your career development plan.
The Focus 2 platform consists of 8 assessment modules which are grouped into two categories: Career Planning Foundations and Self-Assessment. First students should complete the three Career Planning Foundations modules before moving on to the five Self-Assessment modules.

How to use Focus 2
Follow the six simple steps below to make the most of the Focus 2 Career Platform.
The Explore the Possibilities section contains resources to explore career field by major and by job title. Take a few moments to explore your major and potential career paths.

- Did the information you read affirm your decisions or give you more to think about?
Create a road map of your academic and career development activities throughout your time at Mercer by tracking your experiences inside the Focus 2 system.

After completing the steps above, you are ready to export your Summary Report, aka portfolio. This report will summarize your assessment results, your preferred majors and occupations, roadmap tracking, and personal comments, goals, and achievements, all in one career planning document. Use this plan to guide your career steps, academic advising, and overall Mercer experience.
To export your Career Planning Portfolio, scroll down toward the bottom of your dashboard and select “View Your Report” under “My Summary Report”. For your portfolio, you will add all completed assessments and modules by clicking “Select All”. Once on the results screen, we suggest saving your report as a PDF so that you can review it at your leisure.
Now that you have a completed portfolio, make an appointment with a Mercer CCPD Career Consultant to discuss your career trajectory.
